Disabling UAC in order to install this program is not acceptable. Yes I know I can disable UAC, install TVersity and turn UAC back on again afterwards and be perfectly safe, but its the principal of making me do this that I object to.

UAC is there for a good reason and once you've figured out how to work with it (as opposed to "around it"), I'll be back. Until then, there are other media servers out there without this issue.

Tversity running on Win 2008 Enterprise Server - streaming to PS3 80GB over 54Mb wifi. seems to work - but when trying to play x264 content says Folder cannot be accessed. When Playing Divx files, if you pause for more than a minute, and resume play, gets error This content cannot be played (80028801).

Tversity installed great and it was working where others have failed. But today after I turned on my computer and then turned on the PS3, Tversity cannot connect to the network. the PS3 can not find any media servers. I have Vista, I disabled the UAC, I've allowed Tversity.exe and Mediaserver.exe access on the firewall and opened the ports on the firewall and on my router, WRT54G. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any other information needed? Thanks.

neo_bahamut, thanks for your comment. We are looking into this issue. There are some threads about this in the support forums, once a solution becomes available it will be posted there.

Hey guys, I am new to the blog but I have been using TVersity for a while now. Well I just updated to the version 1.0.02 RC1 and now the GUI cannot connect to the media server.

The problem that I am having is that when I open TVersity I will get an error message saying: "Unable to connect to the server, please make sure it is running." after this error the application will hang and the only way to close it is through Task Manager.

Also, my ps3 is not detecting the media server but this could be because I haven’t had the chance to configure it.

I have tried:

- Uninstalling everything, including the codecs
- Uninstall Utorrent
- I even run the debug command prompt and no errors were found.
- Upgrade the flash player

I think the problem is that the GUI is not connecting to the server; I open TVersity through my browser and it worked.

I am running Windows Vista x64 Ultimate Edition SP1.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :D

Installed successfully and running my PS3. A few things...Pausing is still an issue on the PS3 as mentioned on previous post...Media server has to be restarted every few minutes if the PS3 is idle...and it does not maintain capitalisation of folder names as it is done on the pc..seems to just capitalise the first character..other than that..looking good

You can disable UAC through the Local Security Policy under Administrative Tools as well. This doesn't even require a reboot.

Open up Local Security Policy. Go to Local Policies -> Security Options. Look for User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode. Change this to Disabled and it takes effect immediately.

If you have problems overwriting files on your existing install, just set your Tversity account (or whatever account you're installing with) to have full control over the Tversity folder and all subfolders. It should complete the install after that.

Library screen with separate sources and library is somewhat redundant and therefore initally confusing ... but for me, everything works on Xbox 360
including local videos, music, pictures; internet video and internet radio.

But you still don't prevent the PC from entering power-saver mode while Tversity is running. I use Caffe1ne to handle this but shouldn't have to.

Nice Job - almost!
